Yana Affirms ASN Cannot Participate in Practical Politics

Yana said there are regulations that prohibit ASN from being involved in the activities of political parties.

"There are regulations regarding ASN if they are involved in political party activities. Campaigning is not allowed in schools. ASN is not allowed to do politics," he said at the Grandia Hotel, Monday, October 10, 2022.

He deeply regrets the attitude of the head of SMPN 16 Bandung, who is suspected of being involved in practical politics.

Previously, the Principal of SMPN 16 Bandung invited parents to attend the Socialization and Discussion of the Smart Indonesia Program held by a political party.

"Of course we regret that there is a Smart Indonesia program where the political party is carrying out an activity that involves ASN because he is the principal of SMPN 16," he said.

"And we regret that the place has to be in the office of the political party as if it was an activity or program assistance from a political party," he said.

He said the alleged violation will be processed according to the laws and regulations.

"This is in the process, we have been asked for information, made a statement," he said.

Previously, the Head of the Bandung City Education Office, Hikmat Ginanjar, deeply regretted the invitation to parents of students from the Principal of SMPN 16 Bandung to attend the Socialization and Discussion of the Smart Indonesia Program in one of the parties.

"I regret that this has happened, of course ASN should not be involved in the activities of stakeholders. We have conveyed this during the socialization of the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP) at the Atlantic Hotel," said Hikmat.

In this case, the Head of the Bandung City Education Office has given a warning to the Principal of SMPN 16.

Furthermore, the alleged violation will be carried out in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.

This is also a lesson for all ASN in the education environment so that things like this don't happen again.

Hikmat said that the Bandung City Education Office had socialized the management of the Smart Indonesia Program in Bandung City, on September 14-15, 2022.
