Commanders Alternating, Citarum Harum Makes Sure to Keep Rolling
Even if the commanders change, the Citarum Harum program will certainly continue to run. The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) also confirmed that it would continue to support the central government's program.
Currently, the Commander of Sector 22 Citarum Harum is Col. Inf FX. Sri Wellyanto. He replaced Col. Kav Sugiono, the previous Commander of Citarum Harum's 22 Sector.
"I received an order, we carried it out. Ready to collaborate on the Citarum Harum program," said Dansector 22 Citarum Harum, Colonel FX Sri Wellyanto at the Bandung City Hall, Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
He said Sector 22 Citarum Harum will uphold the regulatory guidelines.
"If it is correct according to the guidelines and rules, we are ready to implement it. Regarding controlling illegal buildings and other things, we will try as long as they are in accordance with the rules," he said.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, emphasized that he would continue to support the Citarum Harum program. Bandung City Government is ready to continue to collaborate.
"Thanks to the good cooperation between the government and Danskor 22, the community has also made the Citarum river in better condition. It is proven by the increasing number of factories repairing WWTPs," said Yana.
"We appreciate the activities of Citarum Harum from being heavily polluted, to light polluting now. It is extraordinary that it is targeted for 2024 but this year (2022) it has been carried out," added Yana.
He admitted that this national program has a significant impact on the community, especially the river environment that passes through the city of Bandung.
"This national program makes a big contribution in the city of Bandung, especially regarding river management. Environmental management is getting better. Hopefully what has been implemented will provide benefits to the community," he said.
At the same place, Colonel Kav Sugiono expressed his gratitude for the cooperation that has been carried out so far.
"Of course, this position that I have held for 3 months can become a 'legacy'. Hopefully, the score can be maximized in the future," he said.
After serving as the Commander of Sector 22 Citarum Harum, Sugiono received an order to serve in the Sesko TNI AD. *
