In the health sector, through the Gedebage Sararehat program, Gedebage Sub-district has succeeded in becoming the first sub-district in Bandung City to achieve 100 percent Open Defecation Free (ODF) or where the entire community has defecated in healthy latrines.

"We are grateful for some of our achievements: the first kelurahan that received 100 percent ODF, followed by 3 other kelurahan, Rancabolang, Cimincrang and Cisaranten Kidul. Alhamdulillah, all of them are ODF," said the Head of Gedebage Sub-district, Jaenudin on the Ngariung Podcast for the regional potential edition in Gedebage District, Tuesday, October 11. 2022.

"So in 2020 we will be the first sub-district in Bandung City that is 100 percent ODF," he added.

He said, Gedebage Sararehat is an effort to make the Gedebage community healthy and spiritual.

In addition, Gedebage District is also listed as a sub-district with zero stunting cases in the city of Bandung.

He revealed, various breakthroughs have been made by the Gedebage District to achieve zero stunting, namely with Omaba (motorized taxis for toddlers) which are driven by community cadres.

"This program originating from Cisaranten Kidul is driven by the community. Thank God in Gedebage there is zero stunting. Also assisted by the government PMT which is given by the government every month," he said.

He also admitted that he continues to work closely with the private sector to provide free health checks for the community.

"We always coordinate with the private sector Summarecon. We carry out routine health checks. We have two health centers in Cempaka Arum and Riung Bandung," he said.

According to him, these various programs cannot run optimally without collaboration and coordination with various stakeholders.

"This is an effort to accelerate, collaborate and support the entire community and related stakeholders so that all programs run optimally," he said.

While in the field of education, Gedebage District has a Gedebage Pararinter program.

He said this program was the result of a collaboration with Summarecon Bandung to create a package C school for dropouts.

This program, he said, was inspired by many Gedebage residents who applied for jobs but were hampered by education

"Many of them still hold junior high school certificates. Finally, we collaborate with the private sector and community institutions. With the first batch of Sumarecon, we managed to send 25 people from underprivileged circles to pursue package C," he said.

In addition, there are also collaborations with Community Empowerment Institutions in Cimincrang and Cisaranten Kidul Villages.

"So far, there are 3 places for package C schools. It is hoped that all Gedebage residents can continue to attend at least high school level," he said.

The graduates can later be absorbed by the world of work around the Gedebage area.

"We are working with the private sector to absorb them. Thank God there are 100 residents who work at the Al Jabbar Mosque, there are also those who work at Summarecon," he said. (rob)**
