No More Discrimination, City Government Ensures Accelerated Health Services

The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) ensures that it will continue to accelerate public health services. This is evidenced by the allocation of 22 percent of the Bandung City APBD in 2022 for the health sector. This amount is more than double the recommendation from the Central Government, which is 10 percent.

This was conveyed by the Regional Secretary of the City of Bandung, Ema Sumarna in the Monitoring and Evaluation of Health Facilities with Stakeholders in the City of Bandung, Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

“In the law, 10 percent of the APBD is allocated for health (fields). In its implementation, we in Bandung City allocate 22-29 percent of the APBD for health," said Ema.

He added that the commitment of the Bandung City Government in providing health services was supported by all health facilities in the city of Bandung.

Starting from 80 health centers and 38 hospitals spread throughout the city of Bandung.

In addition, Ema said, the facilities in the health services (hospitals) belonging to the Bandung City Government continue to adapt so that they are not inferior to facilities owned by private hospitals.

He hopes that in the future, basic health services in the city of Bandung can reach all levels of society regardless of their background.

"To achieve this, we all need to join hands to eliminate potential problems in health services for the community," said Ema.

Ema also expressed her appreciation to all ranks of health workers in the city of Bandung. He said the Covid-19 pandemic had become a valuable lesson, where the strength of health workers in the city of Bandung had been tested.

“So after this forum, I hope we all have the same vision: to provide maximum health services. The pace of Bandung's attractions will be very fast in the future, so that maximum service becomes a necessity," he said.

In line with Ema, Plt. Head of the Bandung City Health Office, Anhar Hadian, ensured that the Bandung City Government was strongly determined in accelerating health services.

“The city government has a strong commitment in this (acceleration of health services). So we are open to communicating (related to coordination with private health care facilities),” he explained.

On this occasion, representatives from the Indonesian Hospital Association in the West Java region, dr. Kamaruzaman emphasized that all health service providers in West Java need to accelerate their services.

In addition, communication and coordination between stakeholders is also very important.

"We hope that hospitals in West Java can keep in touch to increase collaboration and communication integration for the sake of creating excellent health services," he said.

In addition, he also underlined disease prevention as a relatively economical effort compared to treatment.

No More BPJS Discrimination
On the same occasion, the Head of the BPJS Kesehatan Branch of Bandung, dr. Muhammad Fakhriza asked that there would be no more patient discrimination in all health services in the city of Bandung in collaboration with BPJS Kesehatan.

“All health facilities that work together with JKN, like it or not, want to serve the community. Because this is often a complaint (discriminatory behavior),” he said.

He also conveyed several BPJS Health accelerations, including the launch of the National Identity Card (NIK) as the identity of the participants of the JKN program.

This, said Riza, is an effort to make JKN program participants easier to receive health services.

In addition, he informed that currently there are 209 health services in the city of Bandung that are collaborating with BPJS Kesehatan.

The number consists of 80 Puskesmas, 103 Private Primary Clinics, 9 TNI Clinics, 3 Police Clinics, 13 Individual Practitioners, and 1 Dentist. (ray)**
