For this reason, the Bandung City Regional Inspectorate held a Socialization of the Corruption Control Effectiveness Index (IEPK) for Regional Apparatuses and Government Internal Supervisory Apparatuses (APIP) within the Bandung City Government.

IEPK is one of the measuring tools in the context of realizing an integrated Government Internal Control System (SPIP) in order to realize an effective, efficient, accountable and transparent government.

The Regional Secretary for the City of Bandung, Ema Sumarna, said that the IEPK is an additional indicator for controlling corruption. Because, it is important to know this as early as possible.

"Planning is the key. It can be all initial sources, what are the goals, implementation, reporting and evaluation. Is what we plan to measure, the potential for corruption can be seen from the beginning," said Ema when opening the IEPK Socialization at Bandung City Hall, Tuesday, October 18 2022.

Ema said, this socialization can strengthen the administration of government maturity.

"With this socialization, it can be implemented and the head of the Regional Apparatus can understand it, including risk management towards work program targets can be realized," he said.

"It is hoped that the inspectorate will maximize, early prevention needs to be presented," he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of Representative for the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) of West Java Province, Mulyana explained, the IEPK is one part of the integrated Government Internal Control System (SPIP) assessment.

However, the IEPK does not predicate the performance of corruption control, but also becomes the basis for the road map for development, governance, risk management and so on.

In addition, this SPIP assessment has also been integrated with an assessment of the maturity of risk management, and an assessment of the capability of the government internal control apparatus (APIP).

There are several other benefits in implementing SPIP. Among other things, being able to improve the quality of planning in a sustainable manner, being able to recognize and overcome the risks of implementing programs and activities, being able to minimize the occurrence of corruption and being able to use resources effectively and efficiently.

"Other uses are to improve the quality of internal control on an ongoing basis and to achieve organizational goals effectively and efficiently," he said.

"Including financial reporting and state assets as a form of our compliance with laws and regulations," explained Mulyana.

He revealed, the City of Bandung, has obtained maturity level 3 in 2020 for the integrated SPIP assessment. He hopes that this achievement can be maintained by the City of Bandung.

"The assessment must be carried out every 2 years. It is hoped that in 2023 an integrated SPIP assessment will be carried out again," he said. (rob)**
