Head of the Section for Community Empowerment and Participation in the Field of Fire Prevention and Disaster Management (Diskar PB) of Bandung City, Cecep Rusdiana, said that more than 300 personnel of Diskar PB were dispatched to deal with this fire.

It took a long time to extinguish the fire in this plywood warehouse. Cecep said, this was due to the large number of flammable materials other than plywood at the point of fire.

"There are chemicals such as glue, which are flammable, so the extinguishing process takes a long time," Cecep said.

A total of 20 fire engines from the Bandung City PB Diskar have also all descended. In fact, on the first day, the PB Diskar for the City of Bandung received assistance from the PB Diskar for the City of Cimahi, Bandung Regency, and West Bandung Regency.

"I see his condition is improving. The children (the personnel) are also in good condition even though we 'didn't sleep' since the fire started. It has been two days. Likewise, the sources and availability of water are also in very sufficient condition,” he explained.

To note, one large fire engine has a volume of 6,000 liters, while the small size has a volume of 4,000 liters.

"It's pretty good, multiplied several times back and forth, hundreds of thousands of liters are needed for the extinguishing process," said Cecep.

He hopes that every main building of the factory, especially in the city of Bandung, has a good Building Fire Safety Management (MKKG) to minimize the impact of a large fire.

"If the MKKG is good, the employees are informed about this management, even if there is a fire, it will not be all gone like what happened here," he explained.

However, the cause of the fire is still waiting for an official statement from the police. As of Wednesday morning, the fire in the plywood warehouse is currently in the cooling stage.

"I hope, today it's over (the blackout process). The sooner, the lower the risk, and we can do other activities,” said Cecep. (ray)**
