A number of experts predict that in 2023 there will be a global economic recession. This was caused by several factors, such as monetary tightening in the form of rising interest rates to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
Related to this, the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, admitted that he is continuing to increase people's purchasing power. One of them is by encouraging the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and maintaining food security.
"We are increasing people's purchasing power. We are also encouraging MSMEs. Meanwhile, we are maintaining food security," he said, Thursday, October 27, 2022.
"The key is to increase people's purchasing power, so that economic turnover is maintained," he explained.
For this reason, Yana also admitted that she is accelerating the realization of government budget spending.
"We accelerate government spending. So the pure 2023 APBD can be agreed with the legislature earlier. So that in January or February, the APBD can be executed," he explained.
Apart from that, Yana appealed to the public not to panic buying. He appealed to the public to be wiser in the consumption sector.
"The government maintains stock, both for community food and others. So residents don't need to panic buying, just buy what they need," Yana appealed. (yes)**
