Rancasari sub-district head Hamdani said the declaration of the clove and mango area was to anticipate inflation and recession.

"According to experts, two commodities that affect inflation are cloves and onions. We see that this clove plant is suitable for planting in the Rancasari area compared to onions," he said when he was a resource person for the Ngariung Regional Potential Podcast in Rancasari District, Thursday, October 27, 2022.

According to him, as many as 10,000 cayenne pepper plants have been planted in 3 RWs, namely in RW 10, 11, 13, Derwati Village.

"We launched 10 thousand of the three RWs at the same time as the Bandung Planting Volume IV yesterday," he said.

Clove plants are planted in the yard of residents' houses and other vacant land.

He said the seeds of chili plants will continue to grow. The target is that 75 percent of the 52 RWs in Rancasari District are ready to plant cayenne pepper.

Currently, his party has increased the number of cayenne pepper seedlings to 20,000 trees.

"There are already a lot of 10 thousand people lining up to get these seeds. In one month 20 thousand cloves have been collected from the help of various parties, this is equivalent to 5 hectares," he said.

"The next 3-4 months can harvest, can produce 2 tons," he added.

Hamdani targets the Cengkek area program to plant 75,000 trees equivalent to 10 hectares of land.

The Mango Fruit Village area is located in 2 RWs, namely RW 7, Derwati Village and RW 4, Mekarjaya Village.

In the two RWs, 110 mango trees have been planted when Bandung Planted Volume I in 2019 ago

"Mango fruit, when Bandung planted volume 1, we planted 110 trees. Now that it has started to bear fruit, we will launch the mango village," he said.

He hopes that the presence of the two plant thematic villages can form independent food security in Rancasari District.

"Hopefully it can be developed again and even become a pioneer to be developed in other places," he said. (rob)**
