Get ready, tomorrow 4,000 Job Fair lockers will open at the Citylink Festival

For two consecutive days from 2-3 November 2022, the Bandung City Manpower Service (Disnaker) held a Job Fair at the Citylink Festival. As many as 4,000 job vacancies (lockers) are available and can be followed by all job seekers in the city of Bandung.

For the first day schedule on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, the Job Fair is open from 09.00-17.00 WIB. Meanwhile, on Thursday, November 3, 2022, the Job Fair will be open from 10.00-17.00 WIB.

Head of the Bandung City Manpower Service (Disnaker), Andri Darusman said, there are 40 companies that will open booths at the Job Fair.

"Our target is as many as 50 percent of applicants can be accepted by the company. Because the national standard is only 40 percent," said Andri.

Several companies involved in this year's Job Fair include Sinarmas, Nabati, Adira, Bank Mega, Sosro, Circle K, J&T, Agung Podomoro Land, Biznet, Torch, Oppo, Alfamart, Indomarco, and others.

"Most of the people who open lockers come from the retail sector, such as Alfamart, Indomarco, and other stores," he said.

This year's Job Fair is the first offline job fair after two years of being held online through the New Bimma application. Various jobs can be chosen by the public according to their respective passions in the application.

Meanwhile, at this year's Job Fair, registration can be accessed through the jobfairdisnakerbdg.com page. Prospective workers can fill in personal data first, such as full name, active whatsapp number, active email, complete address according to ID card, city/district domicile, latest education, and field expertise/work experience.

In addition to the page link, registration can also be done via the QR code available at the Job Fair location.

"This job fair is open to the public. Many are from high school, vocational school, and workers with disabilities, such as mildly disabled, deaf, and speech impaired," he said.

He appealed to applicants to prepare several things to be recruited by the company. Because there are seven companies that are ready to conduct interviews on the spot.

"Prepare a complete portfolio and documents. It must look attractive because there are seven companies that are ready to conduct on-the-spot interviews in the space provided," he explained.

In addition, there are several tips that can be followed by prospective workers in making a curriculum vitae (CV) to make it more attractive in the eyes of HRD.

"In our social media there are special tips on how to make a correct CV or job application and how to answer WA from HRD properly," he added.

This Job Fair is one of the efforts of the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) to remain optimistic and optimize the productive age community in the midst of the 2023 recession issue.

Based on data from the Manpower Office, before the end of the 2019 pandemic, the unemployment rate in Bandung was only 8.11 percent. However, in March 2020 the unemployment rate reached 9,000 people were laid off.

"At the end of 2021, the unemployment rate will rise to 11.46 percent or 153,000 people. Hopefully, in 2022, even though the pandemic is not over, the economy can bounce back," he said.

Efforts that are routinely carried out by the Manpower Office are to provide training in the form of competence, entrepreneurship, apprenticeship with companies so that by the end of 2022 the unemployment rate can fall again.
