6,000-12,000 Doses of Covid-19 Vaccine in Bandung City Ready to Use
The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has allocated 1,000 vials of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine to Bandung City. Each vial contains 6 doses of vaccine. So if it is calculated, around 6,000 for the full dose or 12,000 for the use of half the dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
The Pfizer type can be used for all doses, both doses I, II, III (booster I), and IV (booster II specifically for health workers).
This was conveyed by the Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Bandung City Health Office (Dinkes), dr. Ira Dewi Jani at Bandung City Public Relations, Tuesday 1 November 2022.
"Pfizer can be used for everyone. The problem is that now there are children who are 18 years old, so we don't limit or focus specifically on how many doses. So it is adjusted to the needs in the field," said Ira.
Because, as long as the vaccine stock is empty, there are some residents who are looking for vaccines for travel requirements.
According to him, the earliest possible vaccination will be tomorrow or the day after, Thursday, November 3.
"According to Assistant 1's approval, it is only today that the vaccine can be taken. At the earliest, someone will start vaccinating it tomorrow or Thursday, God willing," he said.
Regarding the number of doses themselves, Ira explained, for doses I and II, Pfizer is used up to one full dose. As for the dose III, it will usually be adjusted to the previous type of vaccine.
"For example, like I used Sinovac in doses I and II. In dose III, if you use Pfizer, it means only half the dose. Unlike those who have been using Pfizer since the beginning, it means that he can get the full booster dose of vaccine," he explained.
Although IndoVac has been officially launched, Ira admitted that the Ministry of Health has not issued a circular regarding this matter.
"Until now there has been no circular letter from the Ministry of Health for the use of IndoVac including the allocation. Now Pfizer has only received it," he said.
In accordance with the direction of the Head of the Covid-19 Task Force or Assistant 1 of the Bandung City Government, the current vaccine stock must be divided equally among 151 urban villages.
"Because each kelurahan has more than one health center. So it is just divided into each kelurahan only. This means that there are 6 or 7 vials per kelurahan," he added. (din)**
