Receives Doctoral Degree at Unpad, Bandung City Secretary Graduates
Bandung City Regional Secretary Ema Sumarna underwent a procession for the Graduation Phase I of Padjadjaran University at Graha Sanusi Hardjadinata, Unpad Campus, Jalan Dipatiukur, Bandung, Tuesday 8 November 2022.
Ema graduated after undergoing postgraduate doctoral studies in Public Administration from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Padjadjaran University. He managed to graduate with a very satisfactory predicate.
He achieved this achievement after completing his dissertation entitled "Management of Street Vendors (PKL) in Bandung City in the Perspective of New Public Service".
Accompanied by his wife, Ema Sumarna was present at 13.30. Graduation procession starts at 14.00 until 16.00 WIB. On that occasion, wearing a dark blue toga with a hat typical of the University of Padjadjaran.
Previously, the dissertation had been accounted for in an open session which was held on August 14, 2022, which was chaired directly by Dr. R. Widya Setiabudi Sumadinata and Secretary of the session by Dr. Drs. H. Heru Nurasa.
The promoters and opponents include Heru Nurasa, Mudiyati Rahmatunnisa, Rina Hermawati, and Prof. Arry Bainus as Unpad professor.
Ema graduated at the age of 56. At such a mature age, he feels grateful to still have the opportunity to receive an education in the midst of his busy schedule as the Regional Secretary of the City of Bandung.
"Hopefully it can be an inspiration for ASN (State Civil Apparatus) to continue to improve their capabilities, especially in the city of Bandung," explained Ema.
For him, education is very important. Moreover, his position as a state apparatus that demands competence and capability, he feels that he must continue to improve his abilities.
“Because what we are dealing with is public service. I want the policies issued by the government to be scientifically based. On the other hand, so that the knowledge I gain can also be useful for the community,” he continued.
The fourth session of the graduation which was attended by more than 500 students was led directly by the Unpad Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rina Indiastuti, S.E., M.SIE. (sya)**
