Bandung City Government Provides Assistance, MSME Turnover Soars To Rp 34.5 Billion

The commitment of the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) to assist micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to successfully increase turnover. Even the turnover reached Rp. 34.5 billion, an increase of 54 percent.

Head of the Bandung City Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Diskop UKM) Office, Atet Dedi Handiman said that of the 1200 MSME actors who had received guidance, as many as 660 MSMEs received a significant increase in turnover.

"There were 660 business actors who received an average turnover increase of 54 percent. The total turnover before mentoring reached Rp. 16.7 billion. After mentoring, the total turnover was Rp. 34.5 billion," said Atet during the 2022 MSME Award at the Savoy Homann Ballroom, Sunday, November 13 2022.

Atet said, culinary SMEs were the type of business that dominated the largest increase in turnover, which was an average of 67 percent or Rp. 12.3 billion.

"There are even some MSMEs that have gone up class with the highest turnover. Jamu Bandung has a turnover of IDR 2.5 billion per year," he said.

MSME actors receive training and assistance in utilizing digitalization to improve market access.

In addition, there is also business legality guidance, business development consultation, free halal certification, intellectual property rights, packaging and logo designs, to facilitation services for access to capital.

To date, the SME Diskop has fostered more than 9,104 business actors. Atet hopes that more MSMEs will record an increase in turnover.

For MSMEs that have advanced to the next class, said Atet, further guidance will be provided to penetrate the export market.

"Furthermore, we will continue to guide MSMEs to go export. The hope is that MSME players can find out the market and export various products they produce," said Atet. (rob)**
