Hospitals in Bandung City Ready to Serve Cianjur Earthquake Victims

The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) instructed all hospitals to become referral health care facilities for residents of Cianjur Regency affected by the earthquake.

The Bandung City Health Office noted that as of Wednesday, November 23, 2022, no less than 129 residents of Cianjur Regency were undergoing treatment at hospitals in the city of Bandung.

Head of the Bandung City Health Office, Anhar Hadian, said that the City of Bandung is ready to contribute to preparing hospitals for earthquake victims in Cianjur Regency.

He said that most residents of Cianjur Regency affected by the earthquake who underwent treatment in Bandung City suffered serious injuries as well as broken bones.

"We have coordinated with all hospitals in the city of Bandung to contribute to preparing a referral hospital for earthquake victims," ​​Anhar told Public Relations of Bandung City, Thursday, November 24, 2022.

He claimed to continue to coordinate with the Hospital so that there would be no rejection of earthquake victims.

Anhar ensured that his party together with the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) had arranged so that there would be no accumulation in one hospital.

"We instruct the hospital not to refuse. Worried that there will be accumulation (of patients in one hospital only), thank God there has been an arrangement from the Ministry of Health so that it is hoped that there will be no accumulation," he said.

In addition, the Bandung City Health Office has been moving since Monday, November 21, 2022 night. So far, the Bandung City Health Office has sent ambulances, medicines, health workers, doctors, ICU cars to hearses to the location.

As of Wednesday, November 23, 2023 the Health Office together with professional organizations and other health personnel in Bandung City have sent 20 ambulance units, 5 specialist doctors, 17 general practitioners, 42 nurses, 1 pharmacist, 7 logistics people and 26 drivers.

"The number continues to grow. We announce that all hospitals send personnel and ambulances," he said.

Anhar said that at this time his party was still adjusting the needs of the drugs needed by the victims.

"Support for drugs and health workers for first aid is still very much needed. In the future the needs will definitely change. We prepare medicines such as diarrhea, cough, itching medicine because there is definitely inadequate sanitation there. Our medicines adjust," he said.

The following are the number of patients affected by the earthquake in Cianjur Regency who were treated at hospitals in the Bandung City Region on November 23, 2022, as follows:

1. RSHS : 84 patients
2. Bandung Kiawari Hospital: 16 patients
3. Bandung City Hospital: 9 patients
4. Santosa Kopo Hospital: 3 patients
5. Sartika Asih Hospital: 3 patients
6. Muhammadiyah Hospital: 3 patients
7. ST Borromeus Hospital: 4 patients
8. Adventist Hospital: 1 patient
9. Santosa Central Hospital : 6 patients
