Bandung City Government Distributes Rp. 7 Billion in Social Assistance to 15,280 KPM

The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is distributing social assistance in the context of controlling inflation in 2022 to 15,280 Beneficiary Families (KPM).

The KPM received assistance in the form of Rp. 450 thousand in cash which was paid directly for the months of October, November and December. The total budget prepared by the Bandung City Government is IDR 7 billion.

The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, said that the assistance that was distributed was assistance sourced from the Bandung City Government APBD funds for people affected by the increase in fuel prices who had not received assistance.

"From the 112,000 DTKS data affected by the increase in fuel prices, as many as 98,000 KPM have been covered by central assistance, there are 15,000 KPM that have not been covered, that is what we are now providing assistance to," said Yana while attending the distribution of social assistance in the context of controlling inflation in 2022 at the Main Branch Post Office. Bandung, Tuesday 29 November 2022.

Yana said, in the midst of the threat of a global recession and the impact of inflation due to rising fuel prices, the Bandung City Government continues to try to reduce the price of goods and increase people's purchasing power.

So, Yana hopes that the social assistance provided by the Bandung City Government can be used by the community for productive things.

"It can be used productively, we can speed up the process of economic recovery in the city of Bandung," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Abandung City Social Service, Soni Bakhtiyar said, apart from getting cash assistance, as many as 280 KPM also received food and clothing assistance for the elderly and disabled.

"As many as 15,000 KPM received cash, the remaining 280 KPM received additional food and clothing assistance," he said.

Soni said the aid distribution process would last for three days starting Monday 29 November 2022 to 2 December 2022.

"We are collaborating and working with PT Pos Indonesia Bandung in the context of distribution, the target is 100 percent completed in 3 days," he said.

Meanwhile, the Executive General Manager of PT Pos Indonesia, Budi Haryanto, admitted that he had distributed summons to the KPM. The letters were distributed through the District, then to the Kelurahan and RW.

"We have scheduled it, the target was all completed in three days," he said.

There are three ways of distributing aid that have been prepared by PT Pos Indonesia, namely; First, it can be paid directly at the nearest Post Office. The second is through the community and sub-districts, and finally home visits for the disabled and the elderly. (rob)**
