The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana hopes that all ranks in the Bandung City Government can collaborate in handling Covid-19 and preparing for Nataru 2022-2023.

"We will keep the city of Bandung conducive and able to handle the spread of Covid-19," he said.

Technically, the Head of the Bandung City Covid-19 Daily Task Force, Asep Saeful Gufron explained that during the 2022-2023 Nataru holidays, it is predicted that 1.18 million people will visit the city of Bandung with an estimated 83,367 vehicles.

On the other hand, he ensured that there were no restrictions on worship or the celebration of Nataru. However, the public is required to comply with the provisions set by the government to prevent transmission of Covid-19.

Furthermore, he explained, the 10 points that are the focus of the Bandung City Government's attention as an effort to control the spread of the Covid-19 virus and the Nataru celebration are:

1. Increase vigilance by optimizing, socializing, educating, and supervising the implementation of the Covid-19 health protocol in each sub-district to anticipate the spread of the Omnicron variant (XBB, BN.1, and others).

2. Anticipate the potential for movement/mobilization from outside the city of Bandung to the city of Bandung during the Nataru period and the 2022/2023 school holidays.

3. Optimizing the role of the District and Kelurahan Task Forces in supervising various activities of community members in each District, especially in tourist attractions and other places that have the potential for crowds (Gasibu, Alun-alun, Jalan Asia Afrika, Jalan Dago, Tegallega, and other tourist attractions).

4. Optimizing supervision of the implementation of Christmas celebrations in every place of worship (churches and other places according to capacity not exceeding 100 percent).

5. Setting up integrated health service posts in places where crowds have the potential to occur during the Nataru period

6. Ensuring the availability of booster vaccines (dose 3) and booster 2 (dose 4 for health human resources and the elderly) due to an increase in demand for domestic and foreign travelers and the implementation of event activities in the city of Bandung.

7. Increasing the capacity of tracing and testing with the collaboration of the Health Office and regional officials.

8. Optimizing supervision of the use of the PeduliLindungi application at every place of business.

9. Optimizing the delivery of information and publication of the implementation of the Covid-19 health protocol and acceleration of vaccination, both directly and using information technology (WhatsApp and social media) as a means of reminding the public.

Regarding the audience capacity for events, including the Christmas celebration, Asep said this capacity was at 100 percent.

"So 100 percent means not exceeding the capacity of 100 percent earlier (if the capacity is 1,000, then it doesn't exceed 1,000 -ed)," said Asep.

Meanwhile, the police confirmed that they would set up 20 security posts, mainly in the city center and the border area of Bandung City with a total of 1,500 personnel.

For information, based on Inmendagri 50 of 2022, the city of Bandung is currently at PPKM Level 1 with a period from 6 December 2022 to 9 January 2023. (ray)**
