It turned out that this condition was caused by extreme weather that hit most areas in Indonesia, without exception in the city of Bandung.

To Bandung City Public Relations, Bandung City BMKG Geophysics Station Head Teguh Rahayu confirmed that there will be extreme weather during Nataru 2022-2023.

According to data released by the BMKG, this extreme weather is expected to last until January 6, 2023.

Furthermore, he explained, the extreme weather that occurred in Nataru 2022-2023 was triggered by the still active Asian Monsoon and cold snaps and equatorial cross currents.

This includes the active MJO + Kelvin + Rosby and the low pressure pattern Ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie in Australia.

Teguh revealed, for the next week (the period December 30 2022 to January 6 2023), the West Java region entered into alert status in forecasts based on the impact of heavy rains. The potential for heavy rain is also accompanied by extreme weather and strong winds.

As additional information, BMKG data also states that there are cumolonimbus clouds with a coverage percentage of 75% from 30 December 2022 to 6 January 2023. This is related to the potential for general aviation weather.

The BMKG provides several recommendations, including: preparing infrastructure and management of water resources, managing the environment by not littering, and for vehicle users to increase awareness as an effort to adapt and mitigate these extreme weather conditions. (ray)**
