The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, received the Informative Regency/City Government Public Agency Trophy directly in the 2022 Public Information Openness E-Monev on Public Agencies from the Chairperson of the West Java Information Commission, Ijang Faisal at the Bandung City Hall, Tuesday 31 January 2023.

"Alhamdulillah, we are appreciated by the Information Commission, because they are considered to have been cooperative in providing information services to the public," said Yana.

Yana said that meeting the public's need for public information is part of efforts to realize good governance. Namely a government that puts forward the principles of accountability, transparency, and community participation.

He revealed, the City of Bandung continues to be committed to carrying out the mandate of Law No. 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Disclosure.

"Indeed, all this time the City Government has been trying to fulfill the mandate of Law 14 of 2008 concerning KIP. Openness is a necessity for transparency and accountability so that it carries out the mandate from the community better," he said.

According to him, people's need for information is increasing day by day. So it must be followed by professional information services from the government, in this case the PPID (Information Management and Documentation Officer).

"We are committed, continue to innovate and provide the best service for public information disclosure for the community," he said.

For this reason, PPID must master a lot of information about government activities, development, and public services in order to serve requests for information from the public through various innovations, one of which is digitalization.

"The Bandung City Government has created various applications to minimize interaction between service providers and people who need services. This digitization helps us receive public complaints, making it more transparent and open. Everything has a digital footprint," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the West Java Information Commission, Ijang Faisal said the informative category was given to Regencies/Cities that had implemented all the regulations contained in Law No. 14 of 2008.

"The results of monitoring and evaluation (monitoring and evaluation) of Public Information Disclosure are the result of Bandung City complying with regulations regarding public information disclosure," he said.

According to him, digitization is an important thing that must be continuously developed in an effort to realize openness of public information that is easily accessible to the public.

"In the future digitalization can bring people closer to public information. Later, people can access it easily," he said.

This year, out of 27 urban regencies in West Java, 13 urban regencies received informative categories.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Diskominfo, Yayan Ahmad Brilyana, revealed that until now the Bandung City PPID already has a structure up to sub PPIDs.

"We have an innovation to make sub-PPID up to the elementary and junior high levels. In the future, we plan to build it up to the puskesmas," he said.

Apart from that, there are also independent monitoring and evaluation activities which are carried out every two years to find out the implementation of public information disclosure in supporting PPIDs and Sub PPIDs.

"Innovation activity program for monitoring and evaluation of public information disclosure once every 2 years. So that it will be known which agencies comply with the Public Information Disclosure Law," he said. (rob)**
