Once a fire appeared, conditions at the Bandung Kiwari Hospital are gradually getting back to normal

Mayor of Bandung Yana Mulyana confirmed that conditions at the Bandung Kiwari Hospital were gradually returning to normal after a fire occurred on Wednesday 1 February 2023 at 07.07 WIB.

He ensured that all patients had been evacuated and the fire conditions at the fire point had been extinguished. Apart from that, Yana also ensured that there were no casualties as a result of this disaster.

"Thank God it's been handled. All patients have been evacuated, and there were no fatalities. The fire point has been extinguished. However, the cooling process is still ongoing," Yana said, Wednesday 1 February 2023.

Yana also added that currently the closest hospital to RSUD Bandung Kiwari is ready to become a referral site for patients affected by the fire.

"We have been contacted and the surrounding hospitals are also ready," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Bandung Kiwari Hospital, Yorisa Sativa, ensured that services at the Bandung Kiwari Hospital were still running.

Even so, he said that there were a number of patients who were evacuated to the nearest hospital as a result of the fire in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) room located on the fourth floor of the building.

The patients who were referred were on average patients who needed breathing assistance.

"For the detailed number of patients, we are still recording. But the patient on the fourth floor has been treated in the emergency room. There are also patients who need breathing assistance, because initially they are being treated," said Yorisa.

In addition, his party recorded that there were around 20 newborns who were referred to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Previously, a number of patients at the Bandung Kiwari Hospital Building had to be evacuated outside the room because of the fire. After the fire was extinguished, Yorisa made sure the patients could return to the building area.

"But the fourth floor is temporarily vacated, now there are several patients in the emergency room who can return or be referred," he said.

In the same place, the Head of the Bandung City Fire and Disaster Management Service (Diskar PB) Gungun Sumaryana said the fire that occurred at the Bandung Kiwari Hospital was reported at 07.07 WIB.

At 07.10 WIB, the Diskar PB team arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire.

"The patient has been evacuated. At the moment we are also doing cooling to ensure the hotspots are extinguished," said Gungun.

As for the alleged cause of the fire at the Bandung Kiwari Hospital, officers are still investigating it. (ray)**
