Bandung City Government Strengthens Community Participation in Drafting the 2024 RKPD

For this reason, the Bandung City Government held a public consultation on the initial plans for the 2024 RKPD at Harris Hotel Jalan Peta Bandung, Tuesday 7 March 2023.

The 2024 Bandung City RKPD refers to the Bandung City Regional Development Plan (RPD) document for 2024-2026, the preparation of which is carried out simultaneously.

The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, said that this public consultation was an attempt by the Bandung City Government to strengthen community participation in preparing the RKPD.

"This is to capture people's aspirations at an early stage regarding the direction of development and policies for the city of Bandung in 2024," said Yana.

"We really appreciate the community's participation in this public consultation. The input provided is invaluable for improving the quality and linkages between priority programs and community needs," he added.

Yana said that the 2024 RKPD must be able to identify strategic issues in the city of Bandung. He hopes that the RPD and RKPD can present the quality of city infrastructure that is inclusive and sustainable as well as equal distribution of the people's economy as well as increasing the comfort and livability of the city.

"This is a joint commitment of the government in urban development," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Development, Research and Development Planning Agency (Bapelitbang) for the City of Bandung, Anton Sunarwibowo said, the theme for the development of the city of Bandung in 2024 is to strengthen economic recovery and the quality of city infrastructure that is inclusive and sustainable in order to improve people's welfare.

While the strategic issues in the 2024 RPD and RKPD are Improving the quality and competitiveness of human resources and supporting facilities and infrastructure; Increasing digital-based governance or SPBE; Increasing economic growth and equity; and Increasing the comfort and livability of the city.

All community input and suggestions will be used as a reference in the preparation of the 2024 Bandung City RKPD.

"We hope that with community participation in this public consultation, the RKPD that has been prepared can be more relevant to the needs of the community," he said.

The 2024 RKPD public consultation at the Bandung City Government is an effort to realize more transparent, accountable and participatory governance.
