Ema: Media Has a Role to Educate Society
The Regional Secretary of the City of Bandung, Ema Sumarna, appreciated the contribution of the mass media to the development so far in the City of Bandung. This is because the mass media also contributes to educating its audience.
This was revealed by Ema Sumarna in a Saung discussion with the Secretariat of the West Java Indonesian Television Journalists Association (IJTI) on Jalan Bekatonik, Thursday 29 March 2023.
"The media has a role to play in educating the people of Bandung City and being a counterbalance," said Ema Sumarna on the sidelines of the discussion.
Technically, Ema explained, the collaboration between the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) and the community, including members of the media, was needed. Because the media carries out the function of social control which can be used as a policy maker.
"Please media friends also help educate the public to jointly guard public facilities so they are not damaged by irresponsible elements," he pleaded.
On that occasion, Ema explained various Bandung City Government policy plans to anticipate various problems. Starting from urban planning, traffic jams, floods and others.
