Two Tourism Villages in Bandung City Enter ADWI's Top 500 2023

The city of Bandung should be proud. This is because in the 2023 Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) assessment, two tourist villages in the city of Bandung are included in the top 500 best tourist villages.

Two of them are the KWK Cigadung Tourism Village and the Binong Tourism Village Tourism Village.

As is known, Cigadung Creative Tourism Village, Bandung City is famous for its creativity. This can also be seen from the tourist areas that carry creative themes located in the Cigadung area.

Cigadung Creative Tourism Village is a creative tourism and cultural arts area with the concept of community-based tourism.

Currently there are around 69 tourism potentials and destinations consisting of the fashion sector, handicrafts, culinary, lodging accommodations, and cultural arts.

The location of the tourist village is in the Cibeunying Kaler District, Bandung City.

Meanwhile, Binong Tourism Village is a knitting center. In this area tourists can shop for quality knitting products.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said, since 2021 ADWI has had very high enthusiasm and is full of consistency.

"Tourist villages are proven to provide economic growth and prosperity in the region to the development of tourism in Indonesia," said Sandi.

There are five assessment categories in ADWI, namely visitor attraction data, homestays and toilets, digital and creative, souvenirs, as well as tourism village institutions and CHSE.

"Of the 7,276 total number of tourist villages in Indonesia, 4,573 tourist villages have registered at ADWI 2023. Then 500 villages were selected as the best tourist villages for 2023," he explained.

This fosters optimism that 4.4 million new jobs will be created by 2024.

"Make this achievement a motivation to continue to develop a quality and world-class tourism village," he said.

Participant registration begins on January 30 - February 26 2023. Participants must become part of the membership in the Tourism Village Network (Jadesta).

Applicant participants are represented by village managers and directly assisted by the Regional Tourism Office (provincial and city/district). Participants must attach a Regent's decision letter (SK-Desa Wisata)

Participants must complete all potential information, attractions, packages, facilities and achievements of the tourism village in the content in the Jadesta system by uploading photos, videos and descriptions of the tourism village

If they pass the next stage, the participant must complete the form of presentation material, photos and upload a video profile according to the contest criteria followed in the technical guidance and workshop phases. (din)**
