This was revealed by Yana when accompanying FIFA representatives to review the GBLA Stadium, Friday 24 March 2023.

"We are continuing to make maximum improvements including assistance from PUPR. We are a training ground," he said.

In the FIFA review, Yana hopes that the GBLA Stadium will pass FIFA standards and become one of the stadiums where the 2023 U-20 World Cup will be held.

"Repairs from the ministry are almost complete, hopefully according to (FIFA) standards," he said.

"But it was quite a while, I hope the results are good," he added.

He said the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) fully supports the holding of the U-20 World Cup. During preparations for the implementation of the Bandung City Government, it did not allow the GBLA Stadium to be used outside of the preparation for the U-20 event.

"By appointing GBLA and Sidolig as training sites, we will continue to support them, including some of the activities carried out here. We don't allow them because they are prone to damage," he said.

Regarding access, Yana ensured that KM 151 and 149 could be used. This certainly can facilitate access to the GBLA stadium

"The access is safe, the possibility of access is via KM 151, if you go through there it will exit right at the red gate," he said.

"If 149 are good via Sumarecon, access is not difficult. Previously, coordination between Jasa Marga and PSSI could be used," he added.

For information, Indonesia was officially appointed by FIFA as the host for the 2023 U-20 World Cup grand event, in 2021.

The series of matches for the 2023 U-20 World Cup will take place from 20 May - 11 June 2023 in six cities in Indonesia.

The GBLA and Sidolig Stadiums are one of the training grounds for the teams competing in the championship.

Apart from Bandung, the other five cities are Jakarta, Palembang, Solo, Surabaya and Gianyar Bali. (rob)**
