About the U-20 World Cup, Yana: The city of Bandung has the maximum preparation

The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana ensured that the City of Bandung made every effort to host the U-20 World Cup.

He said the Bandung City Government had prepared as much as possible the venue for the world football competition. As is known, two stadiums in the city of Bandung are planned to be the venue for the U-20 World Cup, namely Sidolig Stadium and Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA).

“In principle, we are preparing as much as possible for the venue. Yesterday the GBLA Stadium was checked by FIFA, Sidolig Stadium too," he said.

Yana said that holding the U-20 World Cup in Bandung City and in Indonesia was a matter of pride, not only for the people of Bandung City, but also for the people of Indonesia.

"Obviously it's a matter of pride for us, not only for the city of Bandung, but for Indonesian citizens too," he explained.

Previously, Indonesia was officially appointed by FIFA as the host for the 2023 U-20 World Cup grand event, in 2021.

The series of matches for the 2023 U-20 World Cup will take place from 20 May - 11 June 2023 in six cities in Indonesia.

The GBLA and Sidolig Stadiums are one of the training grounds for the teams competing in the championship.

Apart from Bandung, the other five cities are Jakarta, Palembang, Solo, Surabaya and Gianyar Bali. (ray)**
