Greening and Suppressing Citarum River Floods, Bandung Municipal Government Inaugurates Gray Ciko 4 WWTP

This is an effort to optimize greenery and minimize flooding around the Citarum River.

Bandung City Economics and Development Assistant Eric M. Attauriq said the presence of Gray Water WWTP was one of the efforts to manage water in the city of Bandung.

He hopes that the presence of Gray Water WWTP can be one of the concrete solutions for using alternative water sources to overcome the water deficit in the city of Bandung.

“Waste water originating from domestic activities, such as washing dishes and bathing water, can be recycled. The processed products can be used for non-portable purposes such as watering plants, toilets, washing vehicles, and other outdoor needs," said Eric.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Water Resources and Highways Service (DSDABM), Didi Ruswandi said, technically this domestic wastewater will be processed through a reactor and the processed products can be used for outdoor needs.

He also explained, Gray Ciko Arena IV WWTP has an area of 33 square meters and has been planted with several plants, including 50 protective plants.

"Here also built a green open space that can be enjoyed by the community," he said.

In the same place, Deputy Chairman of Commission C DPRD Bandung City Agus Gunawan expressed his appreciation for the presence of WWTP Gray Ciko Arena 4.

He hopes that the presence of this area can reduce river water pollution from household waste water.

Agus also invited the whole community to maintain this facility so that the benefits can continue to be felt.
