Hurry up! Riau-Banda Road Section Ducting Faster than Target
The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is targeting the removal of aerial cables or ducting on the Jalan L.L.R.E Martadinata (Riau Street) section until the Jalan Banda intersection is completed by the end of May.
However, it turns out that in practice the ducting process runs smoothly and quickly. So that the fiber optic cables dangling along Jalan Riau-Banda have been tidied up.
"Today we checked, there has been significant progress in lowering the cable. The route from Jalan Dago to the Jalan Riau intersection, which leads to Jalan Banda, turns out to be finished before the end of May. This is encouraging news, yes," said Acting Mayor of Bandung Ema Sumarna, Friday 12 May 2023.
Along the road, both on the left and right sides of the road are free of dangling fiber optic cables.
"All that remains is the penetration of the repairs that will be completed by the Department of Transportation (Dishub), the Service for Water Resources and Bina Marga (DSDABM), and the Office for Housing and Settlement Areas, Land and Landscaping (DPKP3)," he said.
Some things that need to be tidied up after ducting are sidewalks, street lights, and parks that have been affected by ducting.
"So that everything will be much better later, the sidewalks are also optimal for people to use for walking. Then the cables except for the PLN, yes, they have all been taken down. I see, gradually we will continue to do the aesthetic aspects of the city's beauty," he said.
After the target for the Jalan Riau section to the Jalan Riau - Banda intersection at the end of May, the Bandung City Government will continue the ducting process to the Jalan Riau - Jalan Ahmad Yani intersection.
This road segment is targeted to be free from aerial cables in 2023. (din)**
