"It's been two weeks that the price of purebred chicken eggs has increased. A week after Lebaran, it's still Rp. 27,000-Rp. 28,000/kg. In fact, the last time I checked at the retail store it was Rp. 27,100/kg. However, for the past 2-3 days the price of eggs has been Bandung city distributor level has decreased," explained Elly to Bandung City Public Relations.

The increase in the average egg price in the market reached IDR 33,000/kg. Elly said that the largest supply of eggs to the city of Bandung came from Blitar, East Java. The number of Blitar egg distributors is approximately 30 people.

"About 60 percent of the supply of eggs from Blitar. Meanwhile, the remaining 40 percent comes from Semarang, Medan and West Java (Ciamis, Tasik, Cianjur, Bandung Regency)," he explained.

He revealed, three factors that resulted in an increase in egg prices occurred in the city of Bandung. First, in East Java the demand is increasing to meet social assistance (bansos), one of which is the procurement of eggs.

Then the second factor, there is an increase in the producer areas because many parties are holding thanksgiving and halal bi halal.

"Then the third factor is the increase in the price of livestock concentrate feed due to the increase in feed raw materials," he continued.

Until now, in several distributors the price of eggs is still around IDR 30,500/kg. According to Elly's observations, the price of eggs at the distributor level has decreased by IDR 29,800/kg per day.

"There has been a decrease from three days ago at the distributor level of IDR 1,200," he said.

According to him, with prices at the distributor level getting better, it won't take long for egg traders in the city of Bandung to drop their prices.

"If you look at the conditions, it will soon return to normal. The reference price for broiler eggs is based on the Republic of Indonesia's national food agency regulation No. 5 of 2022, the price of purebred chicken eggs is IDR 27,000/kg," he added. (din)**
