Therefore, the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) together with 300 residents from all RWs in the Ujungberung and Arcamanik (Ubermanik) work area units (SWK) align their viewpoints and commitments in solving waste starting from their respective homes.

SWK Ubermanik consists of seven districts, namely Antapani, Arcamanik, Cibiru, Mandalajati, Ujungberung, Cinambo, and Panyileukan Districts. It also consists of 29 sub-districts.

"We want to brainstorm, discuss how to solve the problem in other ways. This waste can be a big and dangerous problem if it is not resolved properly. Do not let the Leuwigajah case happen again. If this pattern continues, nature is limited," said the Acting Mayor Bandung, Ema Sumarna in Socialization of Kang Pisman at SOR Arcamanik, Sunday 21 May 2023.

He explained, in a day the city of Bandung produces 1,600 tons of waste. Handling is still conventional, that is, disposed of, collected, then transported.

"Even though in theory we have implemented 3R. There has been progress, but not significant. As many as 1,200-1,300 tons of waste per day have been removed. The rest is processed by Kang Pisman," he said.

He hopes that with the regular socialization of Kang Pisman, he can increase public awareness to sort waste and finish waste at home. So that there is no more waste that can be processed is thrown into the TPA.

"We want to make this city a superteam. Because the community's role is very strategic and extraordinary. We only have 135 TPS to accommodate 1,600 tons of waste. I have even heard that there is no TPS in Cibiru," he said.

He also mentioned several residents who could be used as role models in processing waste, such as Aang from RW 02 Cipamokolan Village, Yanto from RW 12 Maleer Village, and Dedy Sukirman Head of RW 02 Sukamiskin.

"These residents process waste in their environment well. In fact, no more than 20 percent of the residual waste that is disposed of in the landfill. It is appropriate for us to emulate the spirit and mindset. Change our mindset, waste that was disgusted before, is turned into useful," he added.

In line with Ema, Head of DLKH Bandung City, Dudy Prayudi said, after Lebaran Bandung City could only transport 1 ritation of garbage. Though usually 2-3 repetitions. This is what resulted in the recent accumulation of garbage.

"But, thank God, as of Tuesday, May 16 2023 TPA Sarimukti has re-opened two zones, namely zones 1 and 2. Our trips can be up to 200 trips or 2-3 trips. It can even reach 300 trips," said Dudy.

However, according to him, this has not solved 100 percent of the waste problem in the city of Bandung. Because actually the Sarimukti TPA is already overloaded. It should only be intended to accommodate 1.9 million cubic meters of waste. But now the capacity has reached 15 million cubic of waste.

"Zone 1 has actually been closed, but because the trash has fallen, so we are forcing it to reopen. By the end of 2023, zone 1 will be full," he admits.

"If there is no effort, then an overload can occur again like yesterday. That's why we are trying to reduce waste at the RW and household level," said Dudy.

He hopes that this activity can make the people of Bandung City even more massive in promoting Kang Pisman. (din)**
