Official! TPA Emergency Re-Closed
The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) again closed the Cicabe emergency TPA. This is in line with the return to normal operations of the Sarimukti TPA.
"Cicabe is closed again. Because the handling at Sarimukti is back to normal. It can be done 240-250 trips, which means conditions are improving," said Acting Mayor of Bandung, Ema Sumarna at Bandung City Hall, Monday, May 22, 2023.
Ema admitted that there are still 9 temporary disposal sites (TPS) that are still overcapacity. Previously, out of 135 polling stations, there were as many as 55 polling stations with excess capacity.
"Thank God it's almost normal, the city of Bandung is not in a waste emergency. Now only 9 TPS are overloaded," said Ema.
Even so, Ema said, the Bandung City Government continues to strive to create a Garbage Free Area (KBS) by handling waste from home.
"We continue to build KBS, it's usually in the RW. We have 1,594 RWs, already 150 RWs in the KBS area. There are lots to be pilots like RW 2 Cipamokolan, as well as other areas," said Ema.
Therefore, Ema appreciates a number of RWs that are able to collaborate as well as solidity in dealing with waste in their respective areas.
