The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) continues to strive to encourage its citizens to implement a variety of nutritious, balanced and safe foods (B2SA). For this reason, the Bandung City Government is holding the B2SA Mabar (Right Eating) Festival at Saparua Field, Monday 29 May 2023.

This activity aims to stimulate the creativity of residents in utilizing food. The event was attended by 650 school-aged children in the city of Bandung.

"This Mabar activity is in line with the vision and mission of the City of Bandung, which is to increase HR (Human Resources) who are competitive. Of course, the quality of human resources must have a pattern of balanced food intake," explained Acting Mayor of Bandung, Ema Sumarna.

Ema appealed to the public, especially young children, to pay attention to food intake patterns. Don't rely on just liking the food.

"The audience is students in the city of Bandung, so don't get used to just relying on what you like to eat. It doesn't look at the nutritional aspects of balanced protein or not. That's what parents have to pay attention to," he said.

Therefore, Ema asked the relevant agencies to provide socialization to each school to educate about the B2SA.

"It's time to implement the B2SA diet. So we asked the DKPP (Food Security and Agriculture Service) to educate schools about good eating habits," he said.

According to Ema, posyandu cadres also play a role as a supporting force for the implementation of the B2SA. This is because nutritional intake as well as protein is needed for infants under five to pregnant and lactating mothers.

"Posyandu is a strategic place, because it covers the provision of additional food for children. This includes the mother in her womb, so the quality of the milk given is good," he said.

On that occasion, Ema also mentioned the Buruan Sae program. He said that there were already 370 RWs that had successfully managed Buruan Sae.

"Not only vegetables, there are also animals such as fish, chicken and eggs. I see several RWs can do this," said Ema.

In the same place, the Director of Food Consumption Diversification, National Food Agency, Rina Syawal appreciated the activities carried out by the Bandung City Government. This is because the B2SA activity is one of the efforts to reduce stunting rates.

"Of course we express our appreciation to the Bandung City Government for initiating this activity," he said.

Rina explained, in one dinner plate it must be balanced from nutrition to protein.

"Consuming enough carbohydrates, the animal must be right, as well as the vegetables. With this concept (B2SA), it will lead to a healthy diet," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Agriculture and Food Security Service, Gin Gin Ginanjar, said the activity was also an effort to diversify food consumption.

"The Bandung City Expected Food Pattern (PPH) data is 89.1 percent. This figure shows that the condition of consuming a variety of foods is still not considered good. So this is our effort to educate people to eat according to B2SA," he said.(yan)**
