The Head of the Regional Financial and Assets Agency (BKAD) for the City of Bandung, Agus Slamet Firdaus said, the Bandung City Government legally owns the 13.9 hectare land based on various evidence currently owned.

So after the preparatory stages were completed, the Bandung City Government immediately sealed it and took over the management of the zoo.

As is known, the Bandung City Government was declared the legal owner of the Bandung Zoo land on November 2, 2022 by the Bandung District Court.

In addition, the Bandung City Government also won an appeal on February 14, 2023 in the West Java High Court Decision Number 08/pdt/2023/Pt.Bdg.

"The Tamansari Wildlife Foundation, which incidentally is Defendant III, has filed an appeal so that the Bandung City Government is planning to take over the zoo as soon as possible," said Agus.

Based on data, the Bandung Zoo rent arrears as of April 2023 amounted to IDR 17,157,131,766 or around IDR 17.1 billion.

As a reminder, the Tamansari Wildlife Foundation in 1970 had paid land rent until 2007. Then in 2008, they had not paid rent until 2013.

Then in 2013, the foundation applied for a rental permit. However, the permit cannot be processed because the foundation has not paid off the arrears for the past 5 years.

The arrears will not be repaid until 2023, where the amount has now reached around IDR 17.1 billion.

Furthermore, Agus said that the security measures for the Bandung Zoo, the City Government would be assisted by the West Java Prosecutor's Office and the KPK-RI Korsupgah.

"So far, thank God, everything has been running positively, and indeed this depends on the SOP that will be carried out by the Satpol PP," he explained.(ray)**
