This was conveyed by the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono during a discussion with the Chinese Community at Bandung City Hall, Friday 24 November 2023.

"We have to complement each other to build a very heterogeneous Bandung. We want to make thematic sidewalks and fix the waste problem together with the Chinese Community. We need collaboration with the temple community there for several areas where the City Government cannot intervene," said Bambang.

He said that the plan is for the thematic sidewalks on Jalan Kelenteng to be realized in early 2024. However, there are still several things that need to be carefully prepared, such as the arrangement of street vendors and parking lots.

"We will arrange these street vendors with the best solution, don't just evict them. We need to work together. We also need to prepare appropriate parking pockets so that there is no slum due to illegal parking. So that this tourist destination on Jalan Klenteng can be created comfortable for whoever is there," he explained.

Including waste processing innovations that were explained by the Chinese Community and the Tolerance Village Ambassadors. Bambang enthusiastically welcomed this innovation.

"It turns out that the Chinese Community and Tolerance Village have also had frequent discussions with the Environment and Hygiene Service (DLHK) regarding this innovation. Thank you, the innovation provided makes me optimistic that we can solve the waste problem quickly," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the thematic sidewalks on Jalan Kelenteng, Head of the Bandung City Water Resources and Highways Service (DSDABM), Didi Ruswandi, said that the arrangement of the sidewalks on Jalan Kelenteng will have an oriental accent theme.

"There are PJU poles that provide a stronger accent. Hopefully in the next few days the PJU with an oriental theme will be installed," said Didi.

Apart from sidewalks and PJUs, his party also recommended that shops around Jalan Kelenteng be made with a uniform feel.

"Later, if possible, in the shops the name signs will be in Mandarin, Latin writing and Indonesian. So the oriental atmosphere there will be more pronounced. But we will discuss this first with the shop owners," he said.

Responding to the waste problem, Toleransi Village Waste Manager, Yaya Suhaya, explained that the Nawasena machine innovation can process both organic and inorganic residual waste.

"So later we will separate the materials that can damage the knife, such as glass stones. Then we can chop up the rest and mix it with additives. The burning will reach more than 1,000 degrees," explained Yaya.

He continued, there is an adhesive material from cassava to make the waste fragments denser for processing. Apart from that, you can also use a BS aci, the price of which is very low, around Rp. 3,000-Rp. 3,500.

After that, the processed waste is molded into briquettes. With these waste briquettes you can boil water in just 3 minutes.

"The Citarum and Jatiluhur Task Forces have used this machine. The briquettes produced in Jatiluhur are used by the tofu factory. Now we in RW 2, Isola Village, are testing this tool," he said.

To date, there are several other areas that use this waste processing machine, such as Indramayu which ordered 6 sets.

Apart from the residual waste processing machine, Yaya also explained the Biomass stove machine to use wood and leaf waste as fuel. He said that many factories in Indramayu and others were already using these stoves. (din)**
