Survey Results: Bandung City is a Destination for Education to Spend Old Age
The phrase "Earth Pasundan was born when God was smiling" does not seem to be a mere metaphor. This is proven by the large number of people who choose the city of Bandung as a place to study and spend their old age.
According to the results of the 2023 GoodStats survey, as many as 45 percent of people chose Bandung City as a place to study. This position is in second place out of 9 big cities in Indonesia. Above the city of Bandung is Yogyakarta.
Quoted from the GoodStats website, the factors that make people choose the city of Bandung as a place to study include the many quality campuses, adequate public facilities and transportation, being known as a student city, cheap living costs, city atmosphere, wider social circle and networking, available various kinds of culinary delights, and many entertainment venues.
There are many well-known campuses, both public and private, in the city of Bandung that are able to compete both domestically and internationally.
In total, from universities to colleges including polytechnics, high schools and other academies that are available and can be chosen by prospective new students in Bandung, there are 156 campuses.
Apart from that, as many as 47 percent of people chose Bandung City as the location they wanted to visit for tourism.
The reasons start from the many tourist attractions, amazing natural beauty, many historical places, delicious culinary specialties, supporting tourist facilities and infrastructure, easy access, adequate public transportation, impressive city atmosphere, and of course lots of shopping centers.
The city of Bandung is in third place below Yogyakarta Bali. The city of Bandung is superior to other destinations such as Malang, East Java, Bogor, Bukittinggi, West Sumatra and DKI Jakarta.
Finally, as many as 47 percent of people chose Bandung City as a place to enjoy old age. The factors vary, ranging from a calm and peaceful city atmosphere, cool, beautiful, low cost of living, friendly people, complete health facilities, adequate public transportation, to entrepreneurial opportunities.
In this survey, the city of Bandung is in second place behind Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, the city of Bandung is above the cities of Solo, Malang, Bogor, Padang and Palembang.
