Champion! Bandung City PPID Again Achieves Informative Public Agency

The Bandung City Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) has again won an award as an informative public body from the West Java Provincial Information Commission. This is the ninth time the title has been achieved by the Bandung City Government (Pemkot), Thursday 30 November 2023.

Regarding this achievement, the Regional Secretary of the City of Bandung, Ema Sumarna, stated that this achievement was the result of collaboration between all regional apparatus organizations (OPD), community participation as well as direction and guidance from the Person in Charge of the Bandung City PPID (Mayor of Bandung City) and me as the City PPID Supervisor. Bandung (Regional Secretary of Bandung City) always appeals to PPIDs within the Bandung City Government to always provide the best service for the people of Bandung City.

"Innovation definitely exists. Of course with a touch of technology because it will make it easier, more effective, efficient and speed up services," said Ema.

He added that the public information request application (Simonik) is one of the mainstays of the City of Bandung which will continue to be improved for public information openness services.

"We are evaluating the lack of features this year and we are also improving human resources. The business process will also be accelerated further, so that next year the Simonik application can make public services even easier," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the West Java Provincial Information Commission, Ijang Faisal, said that the awards given to a number of Public Bodies were expected to prove the Public Bodies' commitment to implementing the Law and provide motivation to further improve services.

"Especially in the current era of information openness, it cannot be avoided. Information is energy that can accelerate the nation's intelligence process. So information openness must become the spirit of public agency services to the community," explained Ijang.

According to him, information disclosure is a means of increasing public trust and support for a democratic government.

In this year's monitoring and evaluation (monev), he assessed that the level of participation by public bodies was high. Of the 108 public bodies monitored, 105 public bodies have returned questionnaires in 2023.

"This means that 97 percent of Public Bodies took part in monitoring and evaluation. In this year's awards, we only awarded Public Bodies that met the qualifications for the best achievements as informative public bodies," he said.

The qualifications are divided into 5 categories, namely informative with a score of 90-100, towards informative with a score of 70-89, quite informative with a score of 60-79, less informative with a score of 30-69, and not informative with a score of less than 30.

"Recapitulation of the increase in Public Bodies in the 2023 monitoring and evaluation for districts/cities, the details of which reached the informative category were 17 districts/cities, 5 towards informative, 3 quite informative, 1 less informative, and 1 city/district not informative," he explained. .

He added, in 2022 the public information openness index value in West Java will increase to 81.93 percent, making it the best province in Indonesia. The increase in the public information openness index in West Java will increase again in 2023 to 84.43 percent.

Responding to this, the Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin said, Public Bodies not only need to respond to needs, but also public complaints.

"We must be more responsive to society's needs. Let's continue to innovate, work together and embrace technology to create an information ecosystem that is more dynamic and responsive to society's needs," said Bey.

Apart from the Bandung City Government, the winners of the informative predicate in the district and city government category are; Sumedang Regency Government, Purwakarta Regency Government, Bandung Regency Government, Karawang Regency Government, Kuningan Regency Government, Bekasi City Government, Depok City Government, Bogor Regency Government, Banjar City Government, Sukabumi City Government, Cirebon Regency Government, Pangandaran Regency Government, Subang Regency Government, Cirebon City Government, Cimahi City Government, and Tasikmalaya City Government.

Each Public Body received a plaque and certificate of appreciation from the West Java Provincial Government. (din)**
