Bandung City Government Gives Awards to Education Units and PTK

The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) gave awards to the Education Unit and Educators and Education Personnel (PTK) within the Bandung City Education Service (Disdik), Tuesday 5 December 2023 evening.

Awards were given to 88 direct award recipients, 26 awards resulting from competitions, teachers who got the highest scores on the assessment, schools that utilized PMM (3 schools), and schools with the highest report card increases (2 schools).

Bandung City Regional Secretary, Ema Sumarna, in her speech welcomed this award positively. According to Ema, the Bandung City Government together with the Bandung City DPRD are always committed to fulfilling the rights of education in the City of Bandung.

"We at TPAD together with the Bandung City DPRD, when we talk about mandatory basic services, education is definitely a concern," he said.

He said that as much as 24 percent of the Bandung City APBD was allocated to the education sector. This number exceeds the 20 percent figure, which is the recommended APBD allocation.

Ema added that the educational aspect is a support in presenting Bandung as a superior city.

"Of course he is superior in terms of IQ, EQ and SQ," explained Ema.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Education Department, Hikmat Ginanjar, stated that this appreciation was given to the School Principals who had provided good practices and supported the independent curriculum in Bandung City.

He hopes that this award can motivate school principals, teaching staff, work groups and communities within the Bandung City Education Department to increase their work professionalism and be more creative in providing educational services.

"Of course to improve the quality of national education which is oriented towards preparing a superior generation of Indonesians," said Hikmat.

"I hope that this achievement does not result in complacency. We must improve our performance in sharing good practices so that the City of Bandung can become a driving force in accelerating the transformation of education in Indonesia," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Bandung City DPRD, Tedy Rusmawan, appreciated this activity. According to him, the Bandung City DPRD always supports the transformation of education in the City of Bandung.

"We are looking forward to a Golden Indonesia 2045. The children we are currently educating (primary and junior high school age) are of productive age and perhaps they will become leaders of Indonesia," said Tedy.

"We have to prepare and educate children much more seriously. So that our hopes of realizing a superior, fair and prosperous country can be realized," he hoped. (ray)**
