This appreciation or reward is conveyed in the form of stickers that are affixed to the homes of residents who have sorted their waste independently.

This innovation was appreciated by the Daily Chair of the Bandung City Waste Emergency Task Force, Ema Sumarna. He hopes that this innovation can be imitated by other sub-districts.

"This is something new that I discovered while touring 24 sub-districts," said Ema at the Panyileukan District Office, Tuesday 19 December 2023.

Ema also explained that currently independence in waste processing is visible in Panyileukan District.

This can be seen from community organizations starting to move to form Community Self-Help Groups (KSM) which will work in the field of waste management.

“His independence is visible. This is what we hope for. "That way, no more waste will come out of the Panyileukan District area," he said.

Furthermore, Ema said that in the Panyileukan District area, there is one point of common concern, namely the Gedebage Main Market. Ema said, this area contributes up to 16 tons of waste per day.

To support the waste management process in this area, the Bandung City Government plans to install two Stungta machines (incinerators made by PT. Pindad).

Ema is optimistic that, with collaboration and various innovations that have been carried out, the city of Bandung can soon emerge from waste emergency status.

"The effective Stungta tool can burn two tonnes per day. Apart from that, this tool has passed any tests, we think it is very safe. "That way, we also hope that the waste problem in the city's working area can be resolved soon," he said.

In the near future, the Bandung City Government will also hold a meeting of the Bandung City Waste Emergency Task Force to review the emergency status of waste in Bandung City.

For your information, various positive developments during the socialization of waste management have been achieved.

One of them is reducing the volume of waste going to landfill from 1,600 tons to 900 tons. Also the growth of Waste Free Zones in several areas.

“This is certainly material that we will bring to the meeting later. "Hopefully, the waste emergency in Bandung City can be resolved," said Ema.

On this occasion, the Head of Panyileukan Subdistrict, Iwan Sumaryana, explained that efforts to socialize independent waste management in his work area had produced results.

He said that around 24 percent of the total residents of Panyileukan District had started sorting their waste independently. Apart from that, in this area a Waste Free Zone (KBS) has also been established in RW 09.

"Even though waste sorting still applies as usual. "We process organic waste, then we process wet waste with loseda," explained Iwan. (ray)**
