A total of 140 street vendors from the Dalem Kaum and Alun-alun areas have occupied new places.

Bambang said that this arrangement was to support the beauty, order and comfort of the environment around Jalan Dalem Kaum and Alun-alun.

The Dalem Kaum and Alun-alun areas are red zones for street vendors according to Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2011 concerning the arrangement and guidance of street vendors.

"We want to present the city of Bandung as a beautiful city. Informal business actors must obey the principles because the city of Bandung has regional regulations. We are relocating one of them," said Bambang.

"So that the comfort and beauty of informal businesses can run, one of the spots is in the Alun-alun. This is the best solution," he added.

He said that the arrangement of the Basement Alun-alun street vendors could become a new culinary tourism destination in the city of Bandung. The arrangement can increase the turnover of MSMEs and attract more tourists.

Bambang also appreciated the commitment of the street vendors who wanted to be organized into the Alun-alun Basement and would not return to selling in the red zone area.

"Earlier there was a commitment from the relocated street vendors that they would not return again and would even invite other street vendors to cooperate with us to create a beautiful city of Bandung," he said.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary for the City of Bandung as Chair of the PKL Task Force, Ema Sumarna, said that the arrangement of the Alun-alun Area has been a long journey since 10-12 years ago.

"Thank God, there are 140 informal business actors that we have verified and validated," he said.

Ema said that the arrangement of the Alun-alun Basement PKL was in collaboration with PT. Mayora has provided the supporting capacity for selling facilities of 140 kiosks, chairs and tables, exhouse, fans, fire extinguishers, 140 point lights, sinks, neon boxes, wall coverings, as well as supporting capacity for water and electricity installations.

"Even though there are still several points that are lacking, we will improve them later. We pray that the informal business sector can be upgraded to the formal sector," he said.

On this occasion, the Alun-alun Basement Street Vendors were committed to maintaining order and cleanliness; maintaining facilities and infrastructure that have been facilitated; will not trade illegal goods; will not remodel and add changes to the function of existing facilities; will not lend or transfer the selling place to other parties; and trade equipment is easy to move.

This commitment was read by the Alun-alun Basement PKL Coordinator, Ishak. (rob)**
