This meeting also sought a solution to the many complaints from the public regarding the spilled market and street vendors. This meeting was held in an effort to discuss controlling street vendors and enforcing Bandung City Regional Regulation No. 9 of 2019 concerning public order, peace and community protection, in order to create a more orderly and clean city of Bandung. In a warm and constructive meeting, Ema Sumarna conveyed the importance of cooperation between the government and traders in maintaining the cleanliness and order of the city. According to him, controlling street vendors and enforcing regulations is an important step to restore the image of Bandung City as "Paris van Java", which is known for the beauty of the city as well as its coolness and cleanliness. “The government is present, regulations are present, for the good and interests of the wider community. "It is not in the interests of a few or a group of people, who only impose their personal will which ultimately interferes with the rights of many other people," he stressed. Ema also expressed her commitment to upholding Bandung City Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2011 which regulates the location and place of business for street vendors which is divided into three zones. Namely the red zone, yellow zone and green zone. Locations categorized as red zones are prohibited locations for street vendors and are not permitted to trade at all. The yellow zone is a location where special hours are applied and the green zone is permitted for street vendor activities. “In regional regulation no. 4 of 2011, this has been regulated. The nomenclature is very humanistic. There is a yellow zone, not a ban, but regulation and control. "But in the red zone it is a prohibited zone so there is no room for compromise and negotiation," he said. Street vendors are also given the opportunity to convey their input and opinions in this enforcement process. Ema Sumarna carefully listened to every aspiration expressed by the traders. This meeting is expected to be a significant first step in maintaining order and cleanliness in the city and strengthening the image of Bandung City as a leading tourist destination in Indonesia.
