The launch of P2WKSS was opened directly by the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, represented by the Assistant for Government and Social Welfare, Asep Saeful Gufron at the Bandung City Hall, Friday 8 March 2024.

Asep said that the role of women in implementing development is very determining in various ways, their position as mothers in the household makes them very dominant in improving family welfare.

"P2WKSS is an annual program as a community development model consisting of women's empowerment, child protection, youth development and concern for integrated groups," said Asep when reading the written remarks of the Acting Mayor of Bandung.

He said that the selection of Sukagalih Village as the program locus was the result of a joint assessment process. The program will be implemented for 10 months from March to November 2024.

According to him, the involvement of pentahelix elements from the government, academics, entrepreneurs and the media is very important to ensure this program runs well.

This multi-party involvement is needed to innovate activities to strengthen and develop community participation and community satisfaction, especially the beneficiary groups.

"I hope that all regional officials and stakeholders in Bandung City can work together to provide support in implementing the P2WKSS program in Sukagalih Village," he said.

He hopes that this program can be a stimulant to create various innovations and new breakthroughs in the development of future development models and that the innovation will be beneficial for society.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bandung City Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (DP3A) Service, Uum Sumiati, said that the implementation of the integrated P2WKSS program starts from planning, implementation, control and evaluation through a competitive approach commonly known as the P2WKSS competition at the West Java provincial level.

The scope of activities to be implemented is divided into three groups, namely basic programs, advanced programs and supporting programs.

The basic program is related to the activities of preparing work plans and preparing proposals resulting from mapping the potential and problems faced by the sub-district community, especially women.

"The advanced program has two aspects, namely service and mentoring aspects in the context of efforts to increase the role of women in the fields of health and economic education through various activities in training and advocacy which can increase women's knowledge, insight and capacity," he said.

Meanwhile, supporting programs are various activities whose benefits can generally be felt directly by the community, such as improving the quality of environmental facilities and infrastructure in the sub-district concerned.

"Later there will be 100 women who will be trained through the West Java women's school," he said.

In the same place, Sukagalih Village Head Annisa Dewi said that P2WKSS activities cover almost all development, from human resource development to infrastructure.

In the economic sector there is the Sukagalih MSME kitchen program, apart from that there is a special women's cooperative which has collaborated with the Anti-Loan shark Task Force.

"For environmental programs, we have a Motekar Waste Bank located in RW 2 which also has a maggot house. Thank God, until now the maggot house has produced a lot and can be used by local residents. In the health sector, there is also a healthy kitchen to overcome stunting," he said.

Apart from that, to support P2WKSS, said Annisa, a budget of IDR 500 million has been collected from non-governmental organizations.

"Thank you for choosing Sukagalih Subdistrict to be the P2WKSS locus. God willing, the community in RW 2 will be self-supporting to launch P2WKSS amounting to IDR 500 million," he said.

For your information, this event was also attended by the Acting Chair of the Bandung City TP PKK, Linda Nurani Hapsah and the Chair of the Bandung City Dharma Wanita Association (DWP), Cici Ema Sumarna as well as various stakeholders in Sukajadi District. (rob)**
