Want to exchange money for sticky greetings? Bank Indonesia Prepares Mobile Cash

Bank Indonesia is preparing money fit for circulation to meet the need for money exchange during Ramadan and Idul Fitri 2024. From March 15 to April 7 2024, the public can exchange rupiah currency at 4,264 public bank office service points spread throughout Indonesia.

The terms and conditions for exchanging money are as follows:

1. Exchangeable Rupiah:

- When making an order to exchange Rupiah money through mobile cash, people can choose the type of Rupiah currency denomination according to availability at the selected mobile cash location.

- The number of exchanges for Rupiah paper money and Rupiah coins that can be ordered by the public follows the allocation arrangements for the availability of the type of denomination and the amount of money at the selected mobile cash location.

- Setting the amount to exchange Rupiah currency ordered via mobile cash as follows:

a. Exchanging metal Rupiah currency can be done in the amount of 250 (two hundred and fifty) coins for each metal Rupiah currency denomination.

b. Exchange of Rupiah paper money is carried out in multiples of 100 (one hundred) notes for each Rupiah paper note with the amount of Rupiah paper money that can be ordered following the allocation determined by Bank Indonesia.

c. Bank Indonesia can provide Rupiah currency exchange to the public using Rupiah currency in various types of emission years which are still valid as legal tender.

2. Conditions for exchanging Rupiah money via mobile cash:

- Exchanges can only be made on the date, location and time stated on the proof of order.

- Exchangers are required to show proof of ordering mobile cash exchange services in digital/printed form.

- Exchangers who will exchange Rupiah currency via mobile cash must bring Rupiah currency in the exact nominal amount as stated on the proof of order.

- The Rupiah to be exchanged has been sorted and packaged with the following conditions:

- Rupiah currency is sorted according to denomination type and year of issue, arranged unidirectionally, and separated between Rupiah currency that is still fit for circulation and Rupiah currency that is not fit for circulation.

- Do not use tape, adhesive, duct tape or staples to group or combine Rupiah currency.

- Bank Indonesia provides reimbursement to people who exchange money with a nominal value equal to the Rupiah currency exchanged. Replacement can be provided by Bank Indonesia using Rupiah currency in the same or different denomination and issue year.

- Replacement of Rupiah currency is given as long as the characteristics of the Rupiah currency can be identified as genuine.

- Before making an exchange via mobile cash on the date stated on the proof of order, NIK-KTP cannot be used to make a new order for mobile cash exchange services. NIK-KTP can be used again to make exchange orders via mobile cash after the date stated on the proof of order has passed.

- When exchanging, the exchanger is in good health and applies health protocols to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.
