Comfortable traffic when going home, Bandung City Transportation Department Deploys Personnel, Ramp Checks, and Road Engineering
The Bandung City Transportation Department will hold safety inspections or ramp checks at Cicaheum Terminal and Leuwipanjang Terminal ahead of this year's Eid homecoming flow. Apart from that, the Bandung Transportation Agency will also "pick up the ball" by visiting a number of bus pools.
Public transportation ramp checks will be implemented at Leuwipanjang and Cicaheum Terminals on April 3-9 2024. Meanwhile, ramp checks will be held at bus pools on March 27-April 2 2024.
"This is to provide a sense of security and comfort to prospective passengers who are going home to their hometowns. This is also to prevent accidents," said Acting Head of the Bandung City Transportation Service, Asep Kuswara at Bandung City Hall, Thursday 21 March 2024.
Asep emphasized that the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is determined to provide excellent service throughout the Eid homecoming season this year. Therefore, the Bandung City Government will collaborate with various parties so that Eid can be spent happily.
"Collaboration and coordination from various existing stakeholders is maximized, starting from supervising public transport operations, controlling traffic flow circulation, preparing service facilities at terminals," explained Asep Koswara.
In order to create smooth and conducive mobility, the Bandung City Transportation Agency will prepare road equipment facilities. Such as traffic barriers, cones, concrete barriers, water barriers, and others.
"Everything is prepared, the placement of personnel to regulate and reduce traffic density as well as the preparation of parking locations," he said.
Meanwhile, Acting Secretary of the Bandung City Transportation Agency, Asep Kurnia, explained that the preparation of road equipment facilities during the Eid homecoming and returning period was carried out together with the Bandung Police.
The Bandung City Transportation Department is ready to place a number of personnel. They consist of 12 cadets, 200 PPL and 36 ASN. They will be distributed at 10 security post points (Pospam).
"Among them, at Simpang Dago, Gedung Sate, Gedung Merdeka, Alun-alun, Kepatihan, Cicaheum Terminal, Cibiru Roundabout, Cikapayang Dago, Buahbatu, Bandung Station and Leuwipanjang Terminal," said Asep Kurnia.
Meanwhile, the Head of the South Kalimantan Traffic Unit for the Bandung Police, Inspector Dewi Prawira Putri, said that traffic engineering and point flow diversions would be carried out on heavy vehicle routes.
"The traffic engineering plan for implementing the one way Bandung-Lembang and the busy route Jalan Ir H Djuanda will be carried out on weekends and holidays," explained Inspector Dewi. (rer)**
