Commission X DPR RI: Bandung City Government's Commitment to Supporting Cultural Existence is Very Good

This assessment was made by the Head of the Culture Team for Commission X DPR RI, Dede Yusuf when leading a group of Commission

"Speaking of the city of Bandung, it is certain that its characteristics are culture, creative economy and culinary delights. "So it's not strange that today, the officials are wearing pangsi clothes and Sundanese ties," he said during a visit to Bandung City Hall, Thursday, March 21 2024.

According to Dede, in West Java there are three regional languages, including Sundanese, Cirebon and Betawi.

"We want to know to what extent the Law on the Promotion of Culture has been implemented," he said.

Responding to this, the Acting Mayor of Bandung revealed that the City of Bandung already has Regional Regulation Number 7 of 2023 concerning cultural progress.

"This is the City Government's commitment to advancing Arts and Culture in the City of Bandung," said Bambang.

A derivative of this regional regulation is the Bandung Mayor's Regulation (Perwal) Number 59 of 2013 concerning the Preservation of Traditional Art.

"Art and culture in the city of Bandung has potential that must be used as an alternative tourist visit," he said.

The Bandung City Government also has a "Calendar of Events". In this calendar there are a number of artistic and cultural performances.

"This is routine every year with support from all stakeholders, both private and public," he said.

Bambang said that his party always tries to establish communication with cultural activists and actors in the city of Bandung.

"The goal is that the arts and culture in the city of Bandung can have selling value and cultural value that must be well maintained," he said. (ziz)**
