Commemorating BLA, Bambang Invites Youth to Show Empathy and Solidarity with Palestine
Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, invited the public and youth to increase empathy and solidarity with their brothers and sisters in Palestine who are still under colonial conditions. He expressed this during the Bandung Sea of Fire Commemoration Ceremony at Bandung City Hall, Sunday, March 24 2024.
"In the spirit of Bandung Lautan Api, it is appropriate to empathize and show solidarity with our brothers in Palestine with various actions, donations and best prayers," said Bambang.
Apart from that, Bambang also invited the next generation, especially young people, to emulate the struggles of previous heroes.
"Let's emulate the sacrifices of all our heroes, both in terms of courage and heroic actions," he said.
Bandung Sea of Fire is an important event in the history of the Indonesian nation. This event became a symbol of the struggle and sacrifice of the fighters in achieving independence from Dutch colonialism.
The historic Bandung Sea of Fire event occurred on March 24, 1946.
The 78th Bandung Lautan Api commemoration carries the theme "With the Spirit of Bandung Lautan Api, Unite Collaborative Steps for a Superior Bandung".
After the Bandung Sea of Fire Commemoration Ceremony at Bandung City Hall, the Acting Mayor and all ranks and various elements of the City of Bandung continued their activities with a pilgrimage to the Cikutra National Heroes Cemetery (TMPN). (ziz)**
