Head of the Bandung City Satpol PP Investigation and Enforcement Section, Mujahid Syuhada, admitted that he continues to monitor night entertainment venues in Bandung City.

He also invited the public to report any violations which would later be followed up by the Satpol PP.

One of them is a follow-up to a public complaint report regarding the business activities of the Hi Hiden Club Belviu Hotel entertainment venue on Jalan Setiabudhi which is suspected of violating.

"We followed up on complaints from the public by directly checking the location (Monday 25 March 2024). After we checked the location and had a dialogue with the management, we found that the management had closed it until the holidays," he said when contacted, Tuesday 26 March 2024.

Mujahid said he would summon the management on Wednesday 27 March 2024 to obtain further information and provide a verbal warning regarding the complaints received.

Previously, the Head of the Bandung City Satpol PP, Rasdian Setiadi, said that the Satpol PP was ready to take firm action up to the closure of nightclub businesses that violated operating hours during the month of Ramadan.

This is in accordance with Circular Number: 728-Disbudpar/2024 regarding the Closure of Tourism Businesses for Religious Holidays. Especially for bars, nightclubs, discos, karaoke, pubs, massage parlours, billiard houses, spas and traditional arts and culture studios which are business and entertainment, they are prohibited from operating their businesses during the fasting month of Ramadan and religious holidays.

Rasdian said that currently there are 10 nightclubs that have been prosecuted. Satpol PP gave verbal warnings to business actors who violated this. If further violations are found, strict sanctions will be imposed.

"There are those who are reprimanded, the sanctions are gradual. From a verbal warning to the next decision. This is the first violation, so we will give a verbal warning first," he said.

During the month of Ramadan, nightclub entrepreneurs are required to close all activities from March 10 2024 until Idul Fitri 1445 Hijriah. This is a form of respect for Muslims who are fasting. (rob)*
