Prepare Three Quintals of Abate Powder, Bandung City Government Moves Quickly to Tackle the Trend of Increasing Dengue Cases

The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is moving quickly to carry out various programs to tackle the increase in cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).

Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, said that the Bandung City Government would distribute Mosquito Killer Drugs (Abate) to suppress dengue fever cases in 151 sub-districts. The city government has prepared 300 kilograms of Abate powder and 15 thousand RDTs for dengue testing equipment

"Tomorrow (Friday 29 March 2024) we will eradicate mosquito nests in 151 sub-districts, including distributing Abate to suppress the spread of cases," said Bambang at the Bandung City Hall, Thursday 28 March 2024.

Bambang hopes that all stakeholders will help in efforts to reduce dengue fever cases in Bandung City.

"We are marching to improve our public services and let's make preventive and curative efforts to improve health services for the citizens of Bandung," he said.

Apart from that, said Bambang, the Bandung City Government has also prepared preventive and curative measures. Preventive steps are taken by regional officials together with regional officials to carry out preventive measures.

"We are involving the sub-district heads, village heads, the RW RT Forum. They are providing massive education to the community," he said.

Then, he ensured the readiness of 80 community health centers spread across 30 sub-districts of the city of Bandung in handling the initial cases of dengue fever in the community.

"We have community health centers that continue to provide curative treatment. There are 80 community health centers spread across 30 sub-districts, we are ready to be alerted to carry out curative efforts. We are also preparing the facilities and infrastructure to provide emergency treatment whether we need to be referred to a hospital," he said. (rob)**
