"For the sake of security and order, we emphasize that street vendors can only operate until 23.00 WIB during takbiran or D-1 Idul Fitri," emphasized the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, at Bandung City Hall, Monday 1 April 2024.

The appeal is part of efforts to maintain calm, order and cleanliness during takbiran night in the city of Bandung.

"Apart from maintaining public order, we also help the Bandung City Environmental Service (DLH) in maintaining cleanliness," he stressed.

Usually on takbiran night, he said, a lot of rubbish piles up, especially in crowds.

Therefore, Bambang hopes for cooperation from all components of society, including street vendors, to create a safe and comfortable environment for all.

In this situation, local security forces will carry out supervision to ensure compliance with the advisory.

Bambang also appealed to the public to maintain an attitude of mutual respect and share goodness in the spirit of Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

Previously, the Government had also issued an advisory regarding the prohibition of lighting firecrackers or fireworks, illegal racing and convoys which could disrupt public order, especially before the eve of takbiran.

"This message is a joint effort to maintain order and peace in the city of Bandung," said Bambang.

This appeal is also based on a joint commitment to implementing Regional Regulation no. 9 of 2019 concerning the trandibum, which is the legal basis for maintaining public order and security.

Another basis is the Decree of the Mayor of Bandung Number: 658.1/Kep.067-DLH/2024 dated 12 January 2024 concerning the Task Force (Task Force) for Accelerating the Implementation of New Habits for Waste Management in the City of Bandung. (ziz)**
