There are five basic commodities, namely premium rice weighing 5 kg, premium cooking oil (1 liter), premium sugar (1 kg), corned beef (1 can) and wheat flour (1 kg).

The initial price for basic food packages sold to beneficiaries is IDR 163,500 with a subsidy of IDR 100,000. So the beneficiary only pays IDR 63,500.

Distribution will take place for 5 days from March 28 to April 2 2024.

The distribution of subsidies for basic commodities was enthusiastically welcomed by the beneficiary residents. One of them is Titi, a resident of Turangga.

He was grateful that by paying only IDR 63,500 he got five food commodities. Titi said the subsidy was very helpful, especially to meet needs ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

"Earlier I bought Rp. 63 thousand. Alhamdulillah, thank you very much. This could be supplies for Eid," he said.

"Once again, thank you to the government for providing cheap basic food assistance. Hopefully the government will remain solid and under the protection of Allah SWT," he added.

Meanwhile, the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, said that the distribution of subsidies was an effort to control regional inflation ahead of the Idul Fitri celebrations.

"Hopefully the community will be helped by being given subsidies for 5 types with a value of around 163,500. This will certainly have an impact on controlling inflation," said Bambang when reviewing the implementation of subsidies for basic necessities at the Turangga Subdistrict Office, Tuesday 2 April 2024.

Bambang said that the beneficiaries of the subsidy program were in accordance with the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) in the Bandung City Social Service (Dinsos).

He also said that providing subsidies for basic necessities was a collaboration between the City Government and Bandung City Bulog.

"This is collaborative work. Thank you to all parties who have helped," he said.

Bambang further ensured that conditions for food availability and security in Bandung City were safe until Eid al-Fitr.

"Based on the problem map and also the availability of several types of basic commodities, God willing, the food security conditions in Bandung City are safe," he said.

Apart from providing subsidies, to ensure smooth distribution of people's basic needs, the City Government also regularly holds Cheap Food Movements (GPM) in a number of locations. (rob)**
