He is one of the sweeper truck operators at the Bandung City Environmental Service (DLH) Waste Management UPTD.

He has been operating a sweeper truck for seven years, a road sweeping vehicle at the Bandung City DLH Waste Management UPTD.

A sweeper truck is a road sweeping vehicle that cleans roads every morning in the city of Bandung.

He is not alone, along with two other friends he is a sweeper truck operator, so there are a total of 3 operators.

Hardi said that every day starting at 03.00 WIB, he had warmed up and checked the car, starting from filling the water, checking the oil, checking the engine until it was ready to operate.

At precisely 04.00 WIB he started driving a sweeper truck around the Pasupati Flyover to clean up the scattered rubbish.

"Usually we come early at 03.00 WIB, usually the warm-up takes around 25 minutes, starting cleaning at 04.00 to 08.00 WIB," he said, Tuesday 23 April 2024.

He said that this sweeper truck operates in a number of areas with a schedule every Monday and Saturday in the Pasupati flyover area, Wednesday at the Gatot Subroto, Kiaracondong, Jalan Jakarta and Antapani flyovers, while on Fridays at the Kopo flyover and Sundays on Car Free Day (CFD). Dago.

Hardi explained that all types of rubbish can be lifted with this sweeper truck except for large rubbish.

He said that there were various obstacles encountered when cleaning the roads. He said that there were still people who threw large amounts of rubbish on the road, such as plastic bags filled with rubbish or large rubbish that was thrown on the side of the road.

"Trash the size of two fists can still be transported, the problem is if it's large trash, such as large pieces of trash. The best way to do it is to pick it up and store it in the front of the truck," he said.

The rubbish he collects every time he walks comes from leaf litter, plastic waste, to street dust. He estimates that he carries around 1.5 cubic meters of rubbish every day depending on the weather and road sweeping routes.

"When there is a lot of waste, such as in the dry season because there are lots of fallen leaves, it can reach up to 2 cubic meters per fleet," he said.

Furthermore, after the waste has been transported, it will be disposed of at the nearest Temporary Disposal Site (TPS) in Bandung City.

"Later, the waste will transit to the mini dump, then we will dispose of it at the nearest Bandung City TPS," he said.

For information, currently the number of road sweeping fleets that are frequently used is 3 Dulevo 200 units and 3 Dulevo 5000 units.

As one of the people behind the realization of cleanliness in the city of Bandung, Hardi hopes that all parties are equally aware of this.

Hardi also reminded every party, be it the public or tourists who come to Bandung City, to throw rubbish in the right place, not carelessly on the side of the road.

He also hopes that the city of Bandung will be cleaner and its citizens will always be given health.

"Let's work together to keep the city of Bandung clean. Throw rubbish into the places provided and don't throw rubbish on the street," he said. (rob)**
