The plan is for motor vehicle-free Braga to be held on Saturdays and Sundays or weekends.

Introduced as part of the city's revitalization efforts, this concept aims to improve mobility and ensure a more enjoyable experience for those visiting one of Bandung's city icons, Braga.

Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tortoyuliono, said that one of the strategic steps to reduce traffic jams in Braga is the Braga Free Vehicle program.

"Since being tested two months ago, the Braga Free Vehicle has become a major concern in efforts to improve tourism and local community/cultural life," explained Bambang at Bandung City Hall, Tuesday, April 23 2024.

By offering Braga Free Vehicles, this initiative not only reduces the burden of traffic jams, but also opens up new opportunities for visitors to enjoy various events and attractions around the Braga area.

"We are confident that Braga Free Vehicle will be a step forward in beautifying Bandung and providing a better experience for everyone who visits this city. One way of doing this is by showcasing the richness of our local culture," said Bambang.

Apart from that, this initiative also combines aspects of local culture and community, with strong cross-sector collaboration between the Regional Government, Transportation Agency, Satpol PP, Police and TNI, Disparbud, Regional and local communities.

"It is hoped that through Braga Free Vehicle, Saturday and Sunday will be busier times with various events and activities that will attract many visitors from various regions to the city of Bandung," hoped Bambang.

With a commitment to realizing this vision, the Bandung City Government is working together to ensure that Bandung remains an attractive and alluring destination for anyone visiting the city of Bandung. (ziz)**
