To make Braga Free Vehicle a success, Bandung City Government has prepared a number of strategies
As part of its commitment to making Braga Free Vehicle (BFV) a success, the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) has prepared a number of strategic steps. One of them is optimizing the Bandung Tour on Bus (Brandros).
This initiative aims to restore the uniqueness and beauty of Jalan Braga by implementing a car-free concept in the area.
Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, explained that Braga Citywalk will be an exclusive zone for pedestrians and cyclists, with a ban on motorized vehicles.
"It is hoped that this step will not only provide a different and interesting tourism experience for tourists, but also support efforts to reduce congestion in the city center," explained Bambang on Jalan Naripan No. 12 Bandung City, Friday, April 26 2024.
Bambang also conveyed comprehensive steps to anticipate traffic jams, including:
1. Traffic Engineering
Traffic flow adjustments will be made around Jalan Braga to increase mobility efficiency.
2. Drop Off Facility
The authorities will provide drop-off areas at strategic intersections to facilitate visitor access.
3. On-Street Parking and Parking Pockets
Visitors will be facilitated with on-street parking areas and parking pockets at government assets, which will provide a convenient alternative for those visiting.
In addition, to support accessibility to this area, the government will provide a special Bandros Circular shuttle service for hotel guests around Jalan Braga.
"As a preparatory step, we will start testing the Bandros shuttle route around the Braga area on Sunday," he explained.
The BFV program is a progressive step that is expected to have a positive impact on tourism in the city of Bandung and support an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
By restoring the nuance and uniqueness of Braga Tempo Doeloe, the Bandung City Government hopes to maintain and promote the city's valuable historical heritage.
