To anticipate the impact of traffic jams in the Braga area, the Bandung City Transportation Department (Dishub) has alerted dozens of officers to reduce vehicle congestion.

"There are impacts from traffic jams. One of them is that we collaborate with the police to reduce traffic jams. We also prepare 48 officers at several points to reduce traffic jams," said Plt. Head of Bandung City Transportation Agency, Asep Kuswara at City Hall, Wednesday 15 May 2024.

"Usually Braga Naripan has two directions, we can go east or south. So we can't enter the short Braga Street. For that, we are preparing members," he added.

Asep also said that the Transportation Department plans to also close Jalan Soekarno, which was used as an illegal parking area by unscrupulous individuals.

The Transportation Department will install a Trapicone or water barrier so that no vehicles enter Jalan Soekarno and are used by irresponsible individuals as a parking area.

"We will condition Jalan Soekarno. Don't close Braga, illegal parking is used on Jalan Soekarno," he said.

Apart from that, Asep said that the implementation of Braga Beken, CFD Dago and Buahbatu and Friday Car Free which are planned to start on Friday 17 May 2024 at Bandung City Hall can reduce air pollution and increase the happiness index of people in Bandung City.

"With Braga Beken, Friday car free, CFD, hopefully the air will be cleaner from pollution and will further reduce the impact of traffic jams," he said. (rob)**
